Give Your Power Away.

I believe at the heart of any person truly living on purpose, is the heart to give power away.

Everyone knows of the movie company, Pixar. The brilliant creators of Toy Story, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, and so many others. But do you know how Pixar became the storytelling franchise that it is today?

Pixar started as a technology company, but was bought by Apple. Steve Jobs used his gift of influence in order to change the movie industry. Steve Jobs, a global titan and visionary had the ability to not only create but to innovate. Steve Jobs saw this opportunity as a conduit to allow storytellers to tell incredible stories. He lived on purpose.

He took his gifts and purpose, and used his power to empower others.

When we live on purpose, we create power.

Power for jobs, power for opportunities, power for growth, power for new technology and advancement. In our culture today, power is a rough concept. Power is seen as something we should avoid in the case of corruption; something that negatively affects our society. While that can be the case when used negatively, power has a great opportunity to be a catalyst for change.

Power is a resource that has been given to us, not for ourselves to hoard, but for us to give away.

There’s a common fear around the idea of empowering others.

Fear that if you choose to empower, there will be no shine, money, or influence left for you. But the truth is, when we don’t share power, we’re not sharing purpose. Purpose creates power, and your purpose was created for momentum and abundance.

Trust that as you give power away, it will create abundance. You will find that you have more opportunity, more influence, more money, and more resources than you ever could have imagined.

If we want to see change in the world, we have to model empowerment for the next generation.

Just as Steve Jobs did with his gifts, we are called to give our power away through our purpose. You will eventually create power for yourself.

Will you be willing to give it away?
